Thompson Drops His Presidential Bid
As I'm sure most of you have heard by now, earlier today Fred Thompson officially withdrew his candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination. I was disappointed to hear this, considering that he was my favorite of the nominees, although I must admit that his chances were looking very slim. Now we're left to choose between Huckabee, McCain, Romney, Paul and Giuliani. Unfortunately, I cannot seem to get excited about the idea of any of these guys as our nominee. While there are a few things I like about each candidate, there are also a few (in some cases more than a few) things that I dislike about each of them, as well. Now that Thompson's out, I need to figure out who to support in the VA primary on Feb. 12. So, if any of you who are reading this have already aligned yourself with a candidate, please tell me who you are supporting and why. Any input is greatly appreciated as I am interested in hearing your opinions.

Not McCain, Please....
I admire him as a war veteran and his input in the Iraq war. It stops there. This man is so pro illegal immigration I don't trust what he says. Definitely not presidential material. Watching him over the years I have found him to always attract attention to himself by being contradictory showing how is not following the crowd, that he is a man of his own mind. I find him to be self centered and antagonistic.
What are his qualifications anyway other than being a Senator? In my opinion a Senator does not have the experience that a governor who has ran a state such as Huckabee or Romney. Even Giuliani has done a terrific job turning a crime infested city such as New York to a beautiful safe place.
I also am open to opinions as i have a couple of favorites. I do know it will not be McCain.
Michelle Malkin had an excellent article about him. http://michellemalkin.com
Not a lawyer either...I just wish all the money that has been spent on the primaries could be used to better our country. In hindsight, I think the conventions were better when the nominee was picked in the summer before the election. It was actually possible for an underdog who was not a billionaire, but a qualified leader to be chosen to be the candidate. They weren't campaigning for years prior to the election! If this much money is spent on the primaries, what can we continue to expect before the actual election? It is sad that candidates are buying voters. Wouldn't it be nice if we could return to the George Washington era when the president wanted to unify the country and not try to slander one's opponents and the platform changes with the weather?
OK, I'm still not crazy about McCain but i may have to reconsider after reading this article by Dick Morris "McCain May win Romney Can't". Anything to keep Hillary out of office.
